Shooting a wedding in Pennsylvania was a first for me! And it was an absolute joy photographing Caris and Chandler’s Pittsburgh summer wedding ceremony and reception. They married at the Eastminster Presbyterian Church and their celebration was at the beautiful Grand Hall at the Priory. Because they had a great wedding planner – Emilee Hunter – their wedding day went off without a hitch!
Get a wedding planner or day-of coordinator!
Having a competent and trustworthy team behind the action on your wedding day is the key to success! Emilee was fantastic and I highly recommend her as a wedding planner or day-of coordinator. So, a note to brides: it is very difficult to enjoy your wedding day and make sure everything goes according to plan. Although you might want to save money, don’t be the stressed-out bride trying to do it all yourself! So it’s very necessary to have someone manage such a special (yet hectic) day.
Of course, a Pittsburgh summer wedding is not complete without bridal photos at Highland Park! We shot near the fountain, where the flowers were perfectly in bloom. The day was very hot and humid and the bridal party was eager to get back into air-conditioning. But we took a lot of great shots in the fifteen minutes we were outside. Caris looked absolutely stunning in her dress, and I loved her grand train, high neckline, and long-sleeves. So she made it very easy to photograph her!
The after-party took place at Pittsburgh’s Grand Hall at the Priory, which was a stunning location for a wedding reception. So the event ran very smoothly and their team did an excellent job managing the evening.
That concludes the east coast weddings from this summer! (Check out the Braynard’s wedding at the Princeton University chapel from July.) I am booking now for California weddings in the fall and winter of 2022.
